We’re Steph and Travis, a Canadian couple 🇨🇦 who bought a 1990 Hunter 42 Passage in Toronto with no sailing experience and left everything behind for a minimalist JIBSEA Life on the big pond. In 3 short years, we crossed the ocean twice and ventured to places less sailed. After 30,000 nautical miles on Jibsea, we've just purchased a custom aluminum sailboat and are in the process of getting Jibsea II offshore-ready and making her our own! We're a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we sold everything we owned and saved money for 1,5 years while living aboard our 40-foot custom built aluminium sailboat. Then we untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter in January 2016.

After 5 years as a navigator on a sub, James bought a sailboat, moved aboard, and never again lived on land. Now, after 21 years on the water he and his partner, Ana, are welcoming a new addition to the Zingaro family: Luna Azul was born Aug 7th, 2023. As my husband and I entered our mid-40s, we realized we were completely exhausted with corporate America and the effect it was having on our marriage and our kids. Something had to change. So we gathered our four kids, sold our suburban Texas home, and, regardless of having no prior sailing experience, bought a sailboat.
